I think you’re looking at it from a very cause and effect angle. No amount of knitting or hobby-loving will draw in an ideal partner. But when you’re doing things you love, rather than sitting at home sulking and becoming jaded to the process of dating, you become a happier person. In turn, when you go on dates, you’re a more enjoyable person to be with. You’re more attractive to others, and you’re more likely to feel confident in acting as your authentic self.

All of that combined will be more likely to result in finding a romantic partner than the alternative.
