The same thing happened to my mom — she took a DNA test and received really surprising results back. Both of her parents passed away decades ago, so she had her brother take a test. Turned out they were only half-siblings too.

Then another account matched with my mom’s, indicating they might be half-siblings.

Long story short, my mom — along with her three new half-siblings — pieced together that my grandma and newly discovered grandpa had an affair that produced my mom.

Genetic family counseling is so interesting! Luckily, my mom and her new siblings are all fine with what happened. My mom still sees her father as the one that raised her.
